Version 0.4.0

StableLatest

0.4.0 · Agents, cloud, and scene tabs

Truca 0.4.0 is lighter to install. You can connect your agent in a few clicks, and your projects back up to the cloud automatically. You can also open scenes in tabs and drop media straight onto the timeline.

New

  • The app is much lighter. The export engine downloads in the background on first launch, with a new welcome screen for signing in and the “Discover Truca” sample animation.
  • Connect your agent in a few clicks from the app, then watch its edits live with its avatar and Follow mode.
  • Open your scenes in tabs, switch between them from the keyboard, and turn on Comment mode from the toolbar.
  • A new Media tab lists your photos, videos, and sounds. Drag them onto the timeline or drop them in from the Finder.
  • Your projects back up to the cloud automatically. An indicator shows sync status, and you can go back to an earlier backup.
  • Work with your team from Home. Switch spaces, create projects in a team, and rename, duplicate, or move a project from its card.

Improvements

  • Edits no longer freeze the app while saving, and zooming and scrolling the timeline are much smoother.
  • The Share and Export windows have been redesigned. Advanced options are tucked away, and Export is now the main button in the toolbar.
  • The timeline now spans the full width of the window, below the preview and the inspector.
  • Truca has a new black-and-chrome look, with its final icon, cleaner tabs, and a simpler sidebar.
  • A new window shows updates and their release notes, offers beta versions, and spots new versions within minutes.
  • Your agent can set one style for the whole animation, organize scenes into chapters, and set up reusable springs.

Fixes

  • Moving a project to the Trash no longer freezes the app.
  • The Account and Updates tabs in Settings can be clicked again.
  • Audio tracks with a missing file are now flagged instead of going silent with no explanation.
  • Cloud storage now shows the correct size: 1 GB instead of 1.07 GB.
  • In dark mode, selections stay readable, and the playhead stays bright red and follows its handle.
  • The app no longer crashes when opening certain scenes, and imported media now shows up in shared links.

Beta

0.4.0-beta.4 · A clearer, more reliable timeline

This beta makes the timeline easier to read: audio tracks with a missing file are now flagged, and the playhead is easy to spot at a glance. The home screen looks sharper too.

Fixes

  • Audio tracks whose file is missing or unreadable are now flagged in the timeline with a warning and the reason, instead of silently playing nothing.
  • A flagged audio track plays again as soon as its file is back in place, the next time you hit play.
  • The timeline playhead is now a steady bright red, so it no longer blends in with comment markers.
  • On the home screen, the crystal now has soft, blended edges, with no more square around it.

0.4.0-beta.1 · Agents, tabs, and the cloud

Connect your agent in a few clicks, open your scenes in tabs, and let Truca back up your projects to the cloud. Editing in the Timeline is much smoother, too.

New

  • The app and the share-link viewer are now available in English and French.
  • Your agent can define styles shared across the whole film, organize shots into chapters, and place sounds on tracks.
  • The new “Discover Truca” sample film shows off text, masks, camera moves, and multiple aspect ratios.

  • Once installed, the app opens on Home instead of crashing, and keeps your projects in your Documents folder.
